Well, today is the big day. Molly and I start our first adventure together. Chris, Stephanie, Kate and Tracy have all been helping me prepare for the departure. Kate cleaned the refrigerator which was a disaster area even though it had never been used.Thursday Tracy and I spent the morning organizing and packing clothes. I spent all day yesterday cooking. Stephanie tried out the convection oven and taught me how to use it.

Chris and I spent this morning loading loading everything into the van and the trailer. I have to confess. I’d forgotten how much went into getting ready for a trip.

Finally though Molly took her throne, we ran the checklist and we were off. It was a short run today. I followed the practice that Andrea and I had developed over the years and just drove about an hour and a half and then spent the evening silencing all the rattles and repacking things that shifted around.

All told, a very successful beginning.

Spiritual Reflections: I have a meditation in the next blog, but in future blogs the reflections will be part of the day’s blogging. As I said on my last trip, this is a big step for me. I’ve always been so private. I may start having nightmares about standing naked in the middle of a parking lot! How’s that for a spiritual reflection.
